This very easy chicken dish is to make you discover a deliciuos, new taste. If you love soy sauce and star anice don’t esitate to try it! Intense but delicate flavour, you will love it and your guest too…let’s cook it!
INGREDIENTS FOR 4 PEOPLE
1 farmyard chicken in pieces
1 onion
1 clove of garlic
half a glass of soy sauce
1 tea spoon and half of sugar
2 buds of star anice
grain pepper
vegetal broth to taste
evo oil
METHOD
Put chicken in a nonstick pan and brown it on a high flame without oil. The skin will release all its own fats (that’s why you need a farmyard chicken). Brown chicken for about 10 minutes and turn it until the skin will be crisp on every side. Then, if you like, throw some chicken fats away.
While the chicken is browning put in a pan a bit of evo oil, garlic, sliced onion, some grain of pepper, star anice, soy sauce, sugar and a couple of cups of vegetal broth. Don’t add salt! Cook on a slow flame for 20 minutes, then filter the sauce to remove spices, onion and garlic and pour it on the chicken.
Cook covered on a slow flame for at least one hour.
Once chicken is ready remove it from the pan and make the sauce thick adding a tea spoon of potato starch or maize starch melted in a bit of cold water.
Replace chicken into the pan, mix and serve it!
This dish is perfect to be served with some boiled basmati or thai rice.
